Multimode fiber (MMF) is an optical fiber designed to carry multiple light rays or modes simultaneously. It is commonly used in high-speed data transmission networks such as Ethernet and Fibre Channel. MMF has a larger core diameter than single-mode fiber, allowing multiple light rays to propagate through the core. This enables higher bandwidth and longer transmission distances than single-mode fiber.
